Originally it should have been a conventional and serious concert night. However, everything turned out to be different than originally intended ... We saw the musical world with different eyes after this evening with the Kremerata Baltica, Gidon Kremer and, above all, the comedy duo Igudesman & Joo! All you had always wanted to know about classical music and their interpreters, but had never dared asking, became revealed: What conductor and soloist really think of each other – how decisions are made at competitions – the horror of a typical day in the life of a musician – ascent and decline of a musician. We cried with laughter! Some time ago, Gidon Kremer discovered the Duo Igudesman & Joo and, from the very first moment, was enthralled not only by their craftsmanship on the instruments they play, but by their ease, their impertinence, their humour and irony in their approach of the noble classical music. It was an evening for all those who, once in a while, do not want to take serious music seriously at all.
