As presentor and chairman of the jury, Thilo von Debschitz provided background information, explaining each finalist entry.
Jean Jacques Schaffner, photographer and designer from Bale, explained “How to win the MfG-Award” with impressive examples from the 20 twenty years of the design competition (which was launched when Bill Clinton became US president).
Alessio Leonardi, designer from Berlin, explained the history of note paper – from inscripted Sumerian clay tablets up to the digital era of today.
As chair of the awards jury, Q managing director Thilo von Debschitz led the audience through the MfG-Award 2011 ceremony and introduced the best business stationery from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Between speeches of Jean Jacques Schaffer and Alessio Leonardi, von Debschitz presented the award finalists and winning entries in the Heidelberg Print Media Academy. In addition to letterheads, the award categories included printed and online forms and self-promotional items from printers. After the ceremony the Bundesverband Druck und Medien (Federal Association of the Printing and Media Industry, BVDM) hosted a comprehensive exhibition of all the winning projects in the 20-year history of the MfG-Award.
