A magazine awakening the wanderlust

Concept, design, text, photography: Creation of the new magazine “Reiselust!” (Wanderlust) was completely entrusted to our creative team. Its purpose is to increase visitors to the hotels owned by the BSW foundation. Twice a year, the publication inspires its 80,000 readers to holiday in the most beautiful regions of Germany.

Its purpose is to increase visitors to the hotels owned by the BSW foundation. Twice a year, the publication inspires its 80,000 readers to holiday in the most beautiful regions of Germany.

THE TASK

Q was commissioned by BSW foundation, an operational welfare institution of the German Railways, to create a new magazine. The goal: attract more guests to the foundation's hotels with authentic travel reports that encourage an emotional connection between the readership and the foundation’s tourism offerings.

THE CONCEPT

Instead of focusing on the BSW hotels, we put emphasized nearby recreational opportunities that provide enticing options for trips to specific regions. Premium photographic documentation (never stock, only real people!), recommendations for daily excursions, and interviews with locals, guests, and hotel teams inspire readers to book their vacation adventures.

Since the magazine was first published, the number of overnight stays has increased significantly. And the magazine itself is growing. Circulation has expanded from 30,000 to 82,000 copies since 2009.

REPORTAGES

BSW’s hotels attract an above-average number of returning guests who book their vacations at the same location on a regular basis. Therefore, there is a permanent demand for new ideas for great holidays in their favorite locations. With exceptional photo documentation and interviews with interesting people from the region, we provide the inspiration they need. By presenting the BSW team in words and images, we also create friendships between guests and hosts.
